"You are part of a puzzle in someones life. You may never know where you fit. But, someones life may never be complete without you in it."

I read this and loved it.

Now... Run. So that you can be a strong, happy, healthy part of their puzzle. And at the same time, make your puzzle's picture how it should be too.

What would Nicky do??

Nicky is my slim friend. She's a slim person. She always has been and always will be.

She loves food. Her favourite shop is the local deli where she spends hours deciding on what cheese, dip, bread, wine, pastry, pâté she's going to buy.

She loves chocolate. She loves wine. She loves cheese. She loves cheesecake.

And... She's slim. And always will be.

And before you assume "good genes" ... Let me tell you this... Genes has nothing to do with.

Nicky eats what she wants when she's hungry. And Nicky stops when she's full.

If Nicky is replete from a delicious cafe meal at lunch... And she's not hungry at dinner time... She simply won't eat.

WHAT????!!!

Not eat dinner?!!!

But it's dinner time!!!!

But that's why Nicky is slim. That's why Nicky can eat what she wants.

The fatchance! Workbook shows us how to be just like Nicky.

What would Nicky do?

She eats when she's hungry. And stops when she's full.

The Fatchance! Workbook has taught me ... Every day is a new day. A clean slate. Closer to where I want to be.

I feel like my workbook has now become my confidant... My personal trainer.. My nutritionist.

And every new day it is there. Without judgment. Just pure and simply for me ... To get where I need to be.

The hardest part of this journey for me has been this...

Finding 6 good things to say about myself.

I can do a couple. And even though I was supposed to write down my 6 things weeks ago... I still haven't got there.

If you are struggling to find your 6 things... You're not alone.

I have a very strong feeling though that when I do get my 6... The healing will have happened.

Do you have the book yet?

Get it.

Road trips. I used to think .... Ooo what am I going to eat? Lollies in the glovebox. Pie and donut stops. And then feasting at our destination. Because... It's a road trip right? For some reason I honestly thought that I couldn't have fun without food.
Then I'd come back home full, bloated, miserable and all my clothes were tight. From one weekend!!!

Well... I'm on a road trip now and wow have things changed.

The fat chance! workbook has made me see triggers ... Triggers like a road trip.

And it has shown me a way around and out of the senseless eating.

Apparently you can still have fun without eating all the crap!

I've had the best weekend. And yes there's been food. But delicious nourishing food... And because I haven't eaten till I burst... Even the coming home is going to be great.

My life used to be consumed with food and dieting.

Not now.

Not now!!!

A Letter

I have just written myself a letter.  To open on the 27th of next month.

Dear Kath,

What you are feeling now is going to pass.  The darkness and emptyness and desire to feed until you burst is ... hormonal.  That's all.  What you're feeling is very real ... but know this ... it's just your stupid hormones.  In about 3 days the heaviness and dark fog will lift and you'll be back to feeling "normal" again.

So ... DON'T do what you did last month and be a slave to those stupid hormones.  Be better.  Be kind to yourself.   Don't eat your way through it.  All that will do is make it all worse.  Be better.  Be kind to yourself.  Remember ... it will pass ... it will lift.

Love,

Kath

SMALL PLATES!

Ha!

Such a simple thing.  But boy it works.

Downsize your plates.  You know the side plate ... use that as your main plate.  You'll be amazed at how that will radically change your perception of how much food you actually need to make you satisfied after a meal.  Just try it.  Once.  Just to see.  Eat slowly.  Enjoy your food.  And afterwards ... really feel that feeling of "satisfied".  NOT "full".  Satisfied.  And you've eaten HALF as much as you usually would've!

GENIUS!

Thank you Susan for coming up with that wee gem.
